Floor-cleaning robots just the start, says Vancouver company

CBC News-October 28,2018/at 1:46 pm

My Topic

Hello, Today I will be discussing about a new self-driving robot  that just came up last Week.

Development

So Technology is one thing that has been increasing every single year and there are some pros and cons for that. So now getting more into the  topic : Three Graduates from the University of British Colombia  who are Kung (25), Matthew Anderson and Jessica Yip discovered A&K Robotics in the year 2015 and now these graduates are setting a goal to have a robotic industry in Vancouver. Why ? why because they think robots should be hired and should be in counter of our everyday life routine. Now they  developed a technology that transforms  floor cleaning machines into self-driving robots which polish the floors and  suck up grime in two buildings  on UBC’s campus. Now they  employ more than 20 people and  they’ve  sold the technology to UBC, the Vancouver International Airport and customers in the U.S. and Europe.

Credit

How much does the Robot Cost currently ?

This robot costs about $10,000 currently.

Are these Machines dangerous ?

No not really they  know their process and the avoid People and Objects.

Take their side

UBC Building Operations joined with the company to gain with the technology with its custodian staff. Two of the robotic floor cleaners are already in use at UBC’s Henry Angus and Life Sciences buildings, and five are to be set in place until November.

-Watch this :A&K Robotics floor cleaner now roaming UBC

The Problem

The problem or more pacifically the Question is that does it make jobs redundant? :As  self-driving robots and other types of  technologies continue to advance, there is a risk that we may lose jobs. Because a 2016 study  from the Brookfield Institute  at Toronto’s Ryerson University estimated  that 42 % of the Canadian works are  at a  risk of being replaced by new technology and computers.

But yet again the A&K Robotics say they want the robots to take the task and by the way some robots weight up to 386 kg, according to UBC.

My Comment

I think this Self-driving robot  and other Technologies won’t help instead they would more have a bad affect on jobs.

Whats Next ?

So now to know further more about this Topic we will need to wait for the CBC News reporter to say weather this will continue or not and for more information.

Thank you for reading my Today’s article.🌹

My path to a Career

Introduction

Hello, its’s Eman and in today’s blog I will be discussing about 2 main occupations that I’m interested in.

Occupations

The two main Occupations I’m interested in are :

  1. Family Physician
  2. Sports Medicine Doctor
Before I begin I will leave a Link down below from where I learned about my Occupations and about my self.👇

Family Physician

My First session of goal was to be a Family Physician and it still is. My dream is to become a Family Physician and it’s my first occupation. I’m interested in this occupation because love to treat humans and examine their health. What is a Family physician?

What’s a Family Physician?

A Family Physician is a type of Doctor. What do they do? A Family Physician is a type of Doctor that treats diseases, injuries, and physiological disorders of patients. They supply contact and manage a  patients’ health, like examining patients, X-rays, ordering laboratory tests and other diagnostic procedures, and they evaluate patients’ physical and mental health. Family physicians may also give support to patients issues, and advise patients and their families on health care. A Family Physician is an educated doctor that must apply to go to a University and take Medicine. The salary of a Family Physician is from low: $24,033 to high: $335,266. The three post-secondary programs nearby right now that may be helpful are Medicine -Saskatchewan university, Pre-Chiropractic-Medicine -Regina, and Pre-Chiropractic-Medicine Champion College.Image result for family physician

I think the three main Tasks a Family Physician has to do daily:

  1. Perform an action towards a patients health.
  2. Be able to manage common complaints
  3.  Know the patient’s conditions.
Did my results match with this Occupation?

My Results definitely matched this Career because my Interest, Knowledge and Motivation Survey all came up to be a Good Match. They all matched because it was my Passion to become one and it still is. I had a 92% match throughout the Compatibility Survey. The Tasks I’ve mentioned before are similar to the Tasks of the results on the Survey. I wasn’t really Surprised by the Tasks because I knew that a Family Physician is to be educated and they have to follow the daily basis. But overall I still want to set a goal to be a Family Physician and I would definitely enjoy this Career because it’s my passion and I would love to solve out new puzzles like issues.

Sports Medicine Doctor

My 2nd career choice is to be a Sports Medicine Doctor. I didn’t really know what a Sports Medicine Doctor is so I went and clicked on the Link for the Sports Medicine Doctor and I discovered that I might Like this job so I choose it.

What’s a Sports Medicine Doctor?

A Sports Medicine Doctor is a Type of Doctor that treats Patients from more likely sports injuries. They Treat things like disorders of the musculoskeletal system. They file the results of diagnostic imaging procedures and laboratory tests and advise patients against returning to a game with may lead to further injury. Meet Dr. Craig Coleby – Board Certified Pediatric Sports Medicine …

I think the three main Tasks a Sports Medicine Doctor has to do daily:

  1. Perform an action towards a patients injuries.
  2. Be able to manage common complaints.
  3.  Know the patient’s conditions.
Did my results match with this Occupation?

My Result did match with this Career because my Interest and Knowledge Survey came up to be a Good Match. Both matched because my top subject was Physical Education and my interest type was the Confident(SC). I had an 89% match throughout the Compatibility Survey. The Tasks I’ve mentioned before are similar to the Tasks of the results on the Survey. I wasn’t really Surprised by the Tasks because I knew that a Sports Medicine Doctor is to be educated and they have to follow these daily basics. But overall I like this career to be my plan B and I would definitely enjoy this Career because I would love to solve out new puzzles like issues.

Thank you for reading my Today’s blog.😊

My Guidance leads me ahead a step

Introduction

Hello in today’s Blog I will be talking about what I learned about myself  from the surveys on myblueprint.ca , if I  agree with my  result  and how the results made me feel.

My Results

When I was starting to do my first survey I was pretty nervous about what the question are going to be and what not. But when I finished  doing the  first survey with was the interests survey I was overall happy with my results and the questions weren’t bad.

Thoughts about myself

I’ve learned lots of things after doing all 5 surveys. And some of the results surprised me.

 Interest Survey

From the Interest survey I learned that my interest types is the Confidant (SC)with means you  enjoy supporting others, your well organized and good at offering   a advice and they also avoid taking risks. I also learned that the two primary interest trails of mine are Social 88% and Conventional 81%. I do agree with the Results but I was surprised in the beginning of the Results. This result made me feel like I am Confident for a moment but then I wasn’t sure about that.Related image

Learning Style Survey

From the Learning Style Survey I learned that I am a Kinesthetic Learner and I learn stuff by touching and doing. I got a 36% for Kinesthetic, 33% for Visual,
and a 33% for Auditory. I kind of do agree with my result in a range of 96% because I don’t really agree by touching stuff I would learn  stuff always, so that’s why its a 96% instead of  a 100%.This result made me feel ”OK” because it wasn’t that bad.Image result for kinesthetic learner

Personality Survey

From the Personality Survey I learned that my personality type is ISTJ (The Inspector)  who are people who prefer to work independently. ISTJ stand for (means for) I =Introverted, S =Sensing, T =Thinking, and J =Judging. I agree with my result 91% because I wasn’t really sure about the result from the T =Thinking. The Results made me feel like a descriptive mindset. Image result for inspector

Knowledge Survey

From the Knowledge Survey I learned that my top Subject area  is Physical Education and then my 2nd and 3rd subjects areas are Mathematics and Science. And for all of these Subjects my result were 100 %. Then for Social Science 89%, Languages Arts 89%, and for Creative Arts 78%.My Career can be related to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. I agree with my results 98% because I love Science and Math though I am not that sure about Physical Education. I feel good about my results.Image result for science math engineer

Motivation Survey

For the Motivation Survey I learned that my  Top motivation factor is Independence. That means when I am given  a specific task and a deadline I would set my  own schedule, pace and direction. And my Second Top motivation factor is Relationship. I do agree 98% with my results. I feel happy from what I got out of my Results.Image result for independence technology

Copy right ,Images and Creative commons !

Hello there ,In todays blog I will be talking about Copy right ,Images and Creative commons. I will be explaining each of them by there own paste.

Copy Right…

What’s exactly the meaning of Copyright ?

Copy Right:the exclusive legal right, given to an originator or an assignee to print, publish, perform, film, or record literary, artistic, or musical material, and to authorize others to do the same so it is totally fine as a right.
The exclusive rights are not absolute but limited by limitations and exceptions to copyright law, including fair usage. Laws that really apply the use of copyright material in many schools don’t apply for using the material on the Internet. Using copyright material in posts leaves you a open chance to copyright infringement. That’s why it is important to learn which things you can use and how to attribute things you can use.

Videos and Images still depend on it ……

Never think that you could just take images and videos of the internet for free because you must give the credit to the owner so its not plagiarism. It legal to copyright but there are some agreements for that as well.

To avoid copyright issues you could use the following three options :

Option 1: Use Creative Commons.
Option 2: Use public domain.
Option 3: Use your own online tools.
You should avoid Copyright on anything you’d copy like for examples books, poems, plays, songs, films, artwork ,videos, images, work, paragraphs, etc.

Creative commons …

What exactly are creative commons ?
Creative commons :A Creative Commons (CC) license is one of several public copyright licenses that enable the free distribution of an otherwise copyrighted work. A (CC) license is used when an author wants to give people the right to share, use, and build upon a work that they have created .It is more related to Copyright.
They are an organization which provides free content license known as a (CC) license that people can apply to their own work.

When you license your own work with (CC), you are giving people the permission to use it without having to ask permission from anyone, provided they use it in the manner stated in your (CC) license.

The reason people use creative commons licenses is to make it easier for anyone to share and adapt creative work without the concern of copyright infringement. There are a bunch of different types of (CC)s licenses people use depending on what restriction(s) they want to apply to their work. Down below is a video that will tell you about (CC)copyright.

Here are two options for finding Creative Commons images:
Compfight plugin – is a quick tool on all Edublogs and CampusPress blogs to find and add creative commons images with attribution.
Compfight website – if you don’t have access to the Compfight plugin then you can search for creative commons images on their website and upload the images to your post.

How do you make slime ?

Slime

There are various types of slimes that you may or may not know about. They could be in different Colors, styles, textures, structures,,etc. Slime is a moist, soft, and slippery substance, typically regarded as repulsive.

My opinion about slime is ….

I used to love slime especially in grade 6. I used to make it every-other second while my mom used to tell me to stop . She hates that type of sticky and slippery substance. Now I’m not that as a big fan of slime because now I get to much homework and I’m to busy in other stuff.

How do you make slime

You could make slime in different ways and ingredients but today we are going to tell you one way but there is a Video down below that will tell you about beginner DIY slime tutorial.

So to make your own slime you will need :
-Water 1/tsp
-White glue (depends on how much slime you want to make )
– 1 Food color (optional)
-liquid detergent (I would recommend the Tide detergent)
-A bowl (to make your slime in )
-A thing to mix your slime (substance) with .

Lets begin !

What You have to do:
In one bowl mix 1 oz. glue (about ¼ of the glue bottle) and ¼ cup water. If you want colored slime, add food coloring to the glue and water mixture. Lift some of the solution out of the container with the stir stick and note what happens.
Add ¼ cup of Sodium Tetraborate (Borax) Solution to the glue and water mixture and stir slowly.
The slime will begin to form immediately. Lift some of the solution with the stir stick and observe how the consistency has changed from Step 1.
Stir as much as you can, then dig in and knead it with your hands until it gets less sticky. This is a messy experience but is necessary because it
allows the two compounds to bond completely. Don’t worry about any
leftover water in the bowl; just pour it out.
When not in use, store the slime in a plastic bag in the fridge to keep it
from growing mold.

Now you could enjoy your slime !

Stem Education around the world

Photo Credit: wuestenigel Flickr via Compfight cc

Education is a big topic. Everyone doesn’t have an educational Background because of personal affairs. Researchers are commonly thinking about improving it but most likely other poor countries can’t afford that. So those other country are forced to reject the common improvement.

Education

.Everyone needs an educational background to learn rules and aspects in this current world. Most women don’t have Education according to the researchers because Women are found to be at home while man are supposed to be educated to have a Particular job. Education is a weapon you could use to change this world. There are many reasons why there is less education around some countries. Most of them may be because of parents discussions, early marriage, or they’re just too poor to afford it.

 Short Information

In 1821, Boston started the first public high school in the United States. After many years in 1877, the first act of parliament education was passed for primary education. Only till age 14. The original department of education was created in 1867. Education helps you build opinions and point of view in life. Education is essential for each individual to lead us a better future. Some students do better in some countries because of their given environment.

Education affects language.

Education affects language because there is a typical way your educated. Many people speak too much from their educated language at school rather than their home language while others do the opposite. It depends on what you learn if you were educated by a different language rather than your home language you may forget your 1st language or your 2nd language. I had an experience of it because before I came to Canada I lived in Germany for about 10 years but then when I moved to Canada I started to learn more and more English and now I don’t remember much of German. So Educational background is related to language because it depends on where you learn your language from, how, when, etc.

Now there are apps and there is this one app with includes teaching more education that is called ” getapp.com “.

creating my avatar!

[This Post  will be a little bit  about me and about  why I will be  blogging, what  I  will be writing about in my blog and also  I’m writing this  post about my  avatar, how it represents me and which website I used to create my avatar from  .]So lets begin…

Hello my name is Eman  .And I go to Regina huda school from around 3 years . I’ve been in Canada from around 5 years  but everything is new here on this app because  I’m starting my journey as a new blogger  on ebu blogs/wordpress   .I’ve never blogged  anywhere before so I don’t  have that much as a experience of it .I will be  blogging to share images, posts, articles, topics about stuff( like technology),etc.I will be mostly blogging about technology but some blogs  would be about different topics as well  depending on different comments and articles .

By the way My avatar website was really hard to find   .I researched so much stuff to find a avatar that included a hijab as a hat gear though I could of  just used bitmoji but it wouldn’t  allow me to create a new account .Well then I found a app called ”pickaface.net” .This is the websites name as well , which sounds kind off weird  as a websites  name but it is a cool app because this app makes it fun while creating a avatar. Anyways my avatar is displaced down below:   Image result for down below sign

I like my avatar because it represents me not someone else . This avatar represents me because I  wear  Black glasses and a hijab .But I don’t always were a grey hijab I wear different kind of hijabs as well (including black,white,pink,red,blue,etc.).But I selected  a grey hijab because I like the color grey in general .

-thank you for reading my todays post.

More about me page !

Hi, Welcome to emannujamal29s blogs! My name is  Eman and I’m 14 years old.

So I was technically born on September 26, 2004, Hagen, Bad Pyrmont, Germany. I’ve lived there for about  10  years  . But After those  10 years in Germany my father wanted to move to Canada because of his family. But  If  I visit Germany I don’t remember how to say  many words in German but if I visit Germany I do  mostly get what people say there . By the way I have one sister who’s 12 ,three brothers ones 7,ones 10 and the other one is 1 yrs old plus a Mother and a Father. I have only one cousin who lives in Germany but many other family s and friends  live there as well. I have more cousins and family s here then in Germany. Well technically my mom was raised in Pakistan but she was born in Germany. My Father was raised and born in Pakistan. Now I don’t know what city because I  barely know Pakistans cities. I only visited Pakistan  once in my life when I was probably 6 years old  .

But anyways the only part I remember about Pakistan was when I took a mike talking doll there from Germany that I really loved and I bought from a market. Well, I used to hug the doll even while I was trying to sleep because I hated the insects there especially snakes out there but. But one day the doll fell from me by accident. The doll was soft but her legs were kind of like plastic. So the dolls one leg cracked apart.I told my grandfather and he said he will fix it but unfortunately, we never went back to Pakistan since our grandfather and grandmother had moved to Canada as well before us .So when he planed to visit Pakistan when I was in grade 5 I told him to bring the doll with him .He really didn’t say anything. But my Father had told me that they had given the doll away .You know I am so mature now but I cant forget that doll.Well, that was a long story.

  • Well, now I’ll talk more about my hobbies and interests. I actually have no experience as a blogger of how to blog but my journey of it is about  to happen .As I talk more and more about my self I’ll  hopefully get used to blogging as well .  My favorite color is Blue,I love playing soccer  and tennis. I want to learn more and more about chemistry even if  I’m bad  at it .I’m just to curious about it .I really hope to become a doctor. I want to discover chemistry life. I want to know more about the app called ”feedly.com ‘

I love cooking especially cupcakes. I hate most of the Canadian Cakes but I love some of them like the ice cream one s. I don’t really like eating too oily stuff because  they taste bad. I love watching Urdu episodes because they give me a opportunity to learn more Urdu and I love there expressions in sad and happy episodes .

  • Have you ever touched a dead animal with a tissue paper ?.Well if you didn’t , I did . I was like about 7 when I picked up a dead bird with a tissue. That does sound awful and it was awful. I really didn’t know that dead animals have diseases with in them .But my auntie saw me and she got so mad and told me to throw it away. I was so panicked because I got scared since the bird could of given me a disease but oh god I thankfully was fine. After that I didn’t even dare to go close to a dead bird .
  • but yes I hope You enjoyed reading my todays post
  • stay tuned for upcoming blogs, posts, articles and etc.
  • leave a comment on this page a bit about yourself.
